About Ortega Pediatric Therapy, PA
Ortega Pediatric Therapy, PA was founded in 2018 by Brandee Charles, M.A./SLP. She opened her private practice in order to provide a unique service to families who attend independent schools. Independent schools do not typically provide in-house therapy services, leaving families with the responsibility of seeking private services during coveted after-school hours. Using a mobile therapy delivery model, her small therapy company travels between multiple independent schools in Jacksonville, Florida to provide services to students during their school day. She has created relationships with schools, administrators, teachers and families within the community in order to promote the importance of speech development in children.

About Brandee Charles, M.A., CCC/SLP
Brandee graduated with a Masters Degree in Communicative Disorders from the University of Central Florida (Go Knights). She holds Florida state license issued by the Florida Department of Health. She has worked in multiple settings and with a variety of patient populations throughout her career. She began her work as a speech-language pathologist in 1998 for the Volusia County School System, traveling to multiple schools in the county to serve students ages 3-17. She later shifted her focus to work with adults in subacute rehabilitation settings to address communication and swallowing deficits resulting from stroke, Parkinson's, dementia, Alzheimer's and traumatic brain injury. She returned to pediatrics when working in home health and local daycares to provide one-on-one speech therapy to high-risk, under-served populations. She became a sole proprietor and private practitioner in 2010, then formed Ortega Pediatric Therapy, PA in 2018. Currently, she specializes in speech sound disorders and serves children ages 3-12. When not at her dream job, she enjoys family and friends, volunteer coaching for Girls on the Run, rowing, running, beaching, fishing and traveling.
